“Unglued” – painting in progress

Working on figurative studies for sketchbook project, I got a little sidetracked on this portrait.  It began to veer into surreal and ominous territory, but I’m used to that, so I followed.

It doesn’t feel finished, but I don’t know what else I’ll do with it.  Maybe nothing at all.  I’m open to suggestions.

  1. Out of interest (nosiness?): who is it? What have you worked from? Or is he from your imagination? Size? Medium?
If it doesn’t ‘feel’ finished it’s probably not; leave it a week and take another look? Look at it in a mirror and/or upside down – any way that makes you view it purely as a formal composition.
Looks pretty good, though, from what I can tell here.
