Here’s the view from my balcony this morning.
That’s my landlord and his son, driving tractors down the driveway.

Continuing the purple theme, I made another little painting today.

Dioxazine Purple is a very strong color. When applied over a wash of ultramarine and golden ochre, it makes a warm dark purple.

I changed a lot of stuff and put on a LOT of layers. Finally the painting is beginning to look a little like what I want it to:
Tired. I’ve been at this painting all day, from when I got up around 10 am.

It looks so uniform, but I’ve been applying layers all day to get the various tones of green and yellow to come shining through. Thinking about where to take it next.
